The Story Behind RustyFM

RustyFM was founded in 2026 by Twisted Transport, a TruckersMP Virtual Trucking Company. The station carries a special meaning for our community, created in memory of Paul Pickavance, who passed away on 25 October 2025.

Paul was known across TruckersMP as “Rusty”, a name that became part of the fabric of the community.

He was one of those members who didn’t just take part, he helped shape the experience for everyone around him. Whether he was driving across Europe or coordinating convoy control, Paul brought reliability, humour, and a genuine passion for the game and the people in it.

Convoy control was where he truly shined. He had a natural ability to stay calm, organised, and supportive, even during the busiest events. Many players remember him as the steady voice guiding traffic, keeping things moving, and making sure everyone enjoyed the journey.

His presence became something people looked forward to, a familiar name, a friendly personality, and someone you could always count on.

Paul’s life ended suddenly at just 55 years old due to an unexpected heart attack. His passing left a noticeable gap in the community, not only because of his dedication, but because of the person he was.

He treated everyone with kindness, welcomed new players without hesitation, and built friendships that stretched far beyond the game itself.

To honour the impact he had on Twisted Transport and the wider TruckersMP community, we chose to name the radio station RustyFM. It stands as a permanent tribute to the enthusiasm and spirit he brought to every convoy. Our convoy control team also carries his name, continuing the work he loved and keeping his influence alive in every event we run.

Paul “Rusty” Pickavance made a lasting mark on everyone who had the chance to drive with him. His legacy lives on through the friendships he formed, the memories he created, and the community he helped build. RustyFM exists to ensure that his name, his passion, and his kindness are never forgotten.

He will always be remembered, and always missed.
